Woman Killed in Long Island Hit-and-Run Accident

According to the authorities, this Long Island hit-and-run accident occurred last night at just before 8:30 p.m.  Police were called to a place near 383 Rose Hill Road in Water Mill.  There, they found the body of a woman believed to be approximately 60 years old.  She did not survive the crash.  The investigators then found a Volkswagen SUV about a half-mile down the road with front-end damage, and they are continuing to search for the driver of that vehicle.  The identify of the woman who was hit was not released.
