Randy B. Nassau
Randy B. Nassau is Trial Counsel to The Fitzgerald Law Firm, P.C. She was born in Queens, New York on October 8, 1966. She attended Taravella High School and graduated in 1984. She received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Florida in 1988 and her law degree from Nova University in 1992.
Randy was formerly a senior trial attorney with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office where she specialized in the prosecution of sex crimes. She has been one of the Fitzgerald trial attorneys since April 1999.
In August 1999, Randy won a record jury verdict in Kings County for a lead poisoned girl in a total amount of $5.355 million.
In November 2004, Randy won one of the country’s top medical malpractice verdicts that year when the jury awarded $31.8 million for a brain damaged boy in New York County.
In March 2006, Randy took a jury verdict in Brooklyn for $29.3 million for a girl diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia and spastic diplegia.
In May 2009, Randy won the largest verdict of its kind in the history of New York’s Westchester County, a $77.4 million award to the parents of 3-year-old boy, who was brain damaged at birth. As a result, Randy was named Lawyer of the Year by Lawyers USA.
In December 2015, Randy obtained the highest medical malpractice verdict in New York City ever for $135 million. Read more here.
In May 2018, Randy took a jury verdict in Westchester County for medical malpractice for $47 million for the failure to diagnose an incompetent cervix and offer a cervical cerclage, which caused severe neurological injuries and blindness as a result of prematurity.
In January 2019, Randy took a jury verdict in Montgomery County for medical malpractice for $41 million for a 45-minute delay in performing a Cesarean-section at 28-weeks gestation, which caused compression of the umbilical cord, which caused hypoxic ischemic insult, which caused the boy’s spastic diplegic cerebral palsy.
