One Person Killed, Three Injured in Brooklyn Pedestrian Accident

New York pedestrian accidents occur at an alarming rate, and given all that could be going on at any given time in the city, the aftermath of these crashes can be extremely chaotic.  However, that does not alleviate the duty of those who are involved in these crashes to remain on the scene so that the police and rescue workers can do their job.  Tragically, one person involved in a crash late last week attempted to flee the scene of a Brooklyn pedestrian accident in which one person was killed and three others were injured.

According to the authorities, this Brooklyn hit-and-run accident occurred on Wednesday night when two vans were allegedly racing in the streets.  The vans were moving up Flatbush Avenue, and as they neared the intersection with Hawthorne Street an unidentified man attempted to cross the road.  He was hit by one of the vans and was thrown into the path of a sedan that was coming in the opposite direction.  He was dragged for about a block and he did not survive the crash.  The driver of the van attempted to flee the scene, but he was apprehended a short time later.
