Man Standing Near His Cab Killed in Manhattan Car Accident

According to the authorities, this Manhattan car accident occurred on Sunday when the unidentified cab driver was standing in front of his taxi, which was double-parked at the time.  Suddenly, the driver of a Nissan SUV came down East 26th Street at what witnesses described as a high rate of speed between Lexington Avenue and Third Avenue.  That driver crashed into the cab, which was sent careening into the cab driver, who was sent flying as a result of the collision.  The cab driver was killed at the scene.
