According to the authorities, this Manhattan pedestrian accident occurred last night at approximately 8 p.m. An unidentified 85-year-old man was on his way to visit a patient at the Cornell Medical Center. As he was crossing the street at the intersection of York Avenue and 69th Street, he was hit by an oncoming Jeep Liberty. Despite the fact that he was rushed inside for emergency treatment, the man was unable to survive the crash. Police are investigating but they have ruled out criminality.
